This is a link to my recent events blog about mis-firing on cornering which turned out to be a water in the fuel tank problem. Water in the Tank
I think water doesn't go down the jets very well so the problem never goes away unless cleaned out. Regular use also helps. Wife: "There's trouble with the car. It has water in the carburetor." Husband: "Water in the carburetor? That's ridiculous." Wife: "I tell you the car has water in the carburetor." Husband: "You don't even know what a carburetor is. Where's the car?" Wife: "In the swimming pool."
